Rice & Beans and Chili Cook-off

 

Rice & Beans & Chili Cook-Off to benefit St. Vincent's Center for Disabled Children in Haiti. For 12 years, this Cook-Off has taken on a “life of its  own”. This year Trinity and St. James', Glastonbury are again partnering  and adding Christ, Middle Haddam and St. Andrews', Rocky Hill as  participants. 16 cooks providing 2 oz. taster cups of Rice & Beans  or Chili. Two competitions – judged and a people's choice, and you vote  for the latter. Pay at the door cost: $10 adults, $3 children (3-12),  $25 for family of 5 (2 adults). Come and join this community event! Bishop Marcus Dogo and his wife, Nana of Kafachan District, Nigeria  will be speaking on "Educating Children in Third World Countries." Ginger Smith will sell her famous homemade soups to help raise funds for Copprome Orphanage in El Progresso, Honduras. There will be 28 different kinds of soup (11 vegetarian) available for purchase in the Parish Hall following the 9am service.

Come join your church family and the community for another

great Sal and Dave concert in our Parish Hall. Sal Basile will be

playing guitar and Dave Spitzer his bass guitar and keyboard, and

both will be singing favorite songs. Bistro-style seating, snacks,

appetizers, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

Please help us by bringing snacks, finger foods, crackers and cheese,

chips and dips, fruit, deviled eggs, brownies, cookies. $10 at the door

with proceeds going to Kateri Medical Services in Nigeria to buy

medicine for the clinics Father Tom supports and where he will be traveling in November.
