October 28 - Bonhoeffer

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German Lutheran pastor and theologian whose insights into the nature of authentic Christian community and discipleship are as relevant today as they were when he promoted them during the rise and rule of Nazism, with all its destruction.  Pastor Hugh Haffenreffer will share with us the story of German Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, including his eventual participation in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Pastor Hugh will touch on the ways Bonhoeffer is being misinterpreted today, and present a few short selections from Bonhoeffer's writing.
